Not aware of anyone other than R&M...may I ask what the problem with R&M might be?   Just curious.
They seem to be easy to work with, and their products work.   Bought a front and rear for MC9 from them.

I believe it would make good business sense for them to relocate to a more central U.S. east of the Mississippi location or at least open another place. as shipping is ridiculous. That is the only reason I don't have their products on my bus.

If it helps, International bus in Apopka Fl. sells the R&M caps.

At  one time there were several suppiers of caps but R&M took over the market with better fit and quality. They also make things like dash panels, breast plates and light housings that no one else supplied. I guess if Bill Gates doesn't see any reason why he should move to the East coast, Richard doesn't either.  If you want his product, you pay the freight from his factory, regardless of where you live.  R&M has always offered a better deal on freight if he could put several caps in one box and that is what IBP is trying to promote.

Deans coach and Central Carolina Bus Body order and sell R&M products.   They are in Central NC.   Right there in Richard Petty country.
Cental Carolina was receiving several and I bought some of those units.
Would that work for you?   It doesn't cost much more to ship 5 than it does to ship 1.

R&M are great people. It was a great trip from Calgary to Turner Oregon when I picked up my front cap from them.

Tin lizzy. You went to Oregon to pick up a cap. Did you have any problems with Canadian Customs coming back. And what did you bring to cap back on? Trailer, pick up?

Sorry this is not about caps.
Has anyone bought a dash from them? If so how do you like it?
I need one for my Eagle and their design is a little bit differant than Custom Intrument Panels.
I agree with what has been said regarding R and M. Great people to deal with. They make a great product, and it looks good. I bought the camera pod from them. I really like it. I used to live a couple of miles from them, I would not move from their location, great country. Shipping charges should not be a major concern when buying a quality product.

Happy Trails,

As you can tell by the pic of my bus I used R&M front & back caps, fiberglass sides, new style front & back, aluminum bay doors and dash I would not use anyone else great people to deal with and it all fit without any problems and best of all it looks great.

jeffacc,

Would you happen to have a picture of your dash and be able to post it or send to my email?

Thanks,

Paul

Well, I can't speak the same wonderful praises of R&M.

I spent a ton of money for front and rear caps, and full rear surround.  I was seriously disappointed with the quality and fit of the products and would not do it again.  The pieces didn't fit the bus well, and required considerable effort to make a good seal. They didn't leave enough excess to allow proper trimming, which left me with chipped and wavy edges. The lights in the rear cap don't seal and leak when it rains (only one side). And the rear surround does not fit together well or allow proper trimming on the radiator doors. There were also hollow defects in the fiberglass under the gel coat which have appeared since installation.

The only piece I would use again is the rear cap, but I'd custom order it so it could be trimmed properly.

For the front cap, I'd reuse the original MC9 cap and fill in below it with aluminum.

And, I wouldn't spend the money on the rear surround again. it turned out to be a bad investment. I'll eventually be removing it and will make my own out of Alucobond, Aluminum or stainless.

To their credit, they did make good on the shipping quote when the trucking company tried to charge me 3 times what they quoted me.
