1954 4104 vin location

Good morning all,   i just purchased a 54  4104 conversion. someone has removed the vinplate. i wont have paperwork on this coach
for a few months. does anyone know where it could be located anywhere else?  i had seen a 4106 that  had it stamped in bay thats under driver seat, but its not on the 04s i guess. thanks all....Dave

On my 1960 4104 it was stamped on the vertical part of the structure in the "drivers" compartment below the driver's seat.

hi jon, thank you and everyone else on this website. looks like everyone tries to help each other out in some form or another.
  I live in tacoma, washington. its about 45/50 min south of seattle. i have been driving by this bus for about 2years now and never seen any activity at the house it was parked at. finally 1 day the owner was cleaning out the house when i drove by. and a good frienship went fron there.  i could use that offer for some manuals if that is still avail.??  the bus is a conversion done in prob late 70s if i had to guess.. and the vin is 4104-746. im excited to hear any info on the old girl. i will get some pics up soon. i have been around a few busses as a kid with my dad but this is my first. im 38 years old with a family of 6 kids and all is aboard to help. thank you again!!!.... PD4104-746 was delivered new in January of 1954 as fleet number K-1869 to Pacific Greyhound Lines, HQ'd in San Francisco, CA.  Obviously a West Coast bus, which is a plus.  Greyhound most likely sold it to it's second owner after the summer peak season in the fall of either 1964 or 1965.

Since it was based out of SF, it was also maintained by one of (at the time) 'Hound's best service shops nationwide. 

So, now you can truthfully tell folk that you own a "jen-you-wine retired Greyhound bus" when people ask - and they will!

I started in this madness 17 months ago. If you Google "this old bus" you'll find my blog. Started by gutting it all including wiring, the floor and starting fresh. May be some nuggets that would help you along the way. Good luck!  It sounds like you've got some extra hands to help.
