Engine compatiblity

For my education, I know from reading posts that you can' t take just any old 6V92 and have it drop into a Prevost.  My question is that as I look for a silver engine, what sources would make the swap easiest.  A Prevost is one, what are there others?

MCI's and Neo are about the same engine one from a Eagle ,a truck or industrial setup requires to much work on the rear but worth it if you find a buy on a good engine
