Looking for any and all ideas related to a motorcycle toad? I have been given a nice/older cruiser (800 lbs) and looking at using it as the new toad.

If you are currently using a motorcycle as a toad, I would love to see photos.

If you have used a motorcycle as a toad, I would love to read your comments.

If you have never used a motorcycle as a toad, then I just am glad you read this far ;D

Happy new year!

Thats a lot of weight to hang off the back of a bus.  A 5x10 enclosed trailer is probably the best way to go.  That's what I'm planning on doing.

Hi Grant,

After almost 2 years of trips in the bus, I'm sure glad that I'm now towing a Yukon.

There have been too many instances where we needed room to carry extra cargo or make a purchace on a trip.

Also I plan to purchace a Scooter or Vespa of sort this spring and carry it behind the Yukon for added transportation.

Good Luck.

My '46 Knucklehead (Harley) fits in the basement. I just pull my "ape hangers" (handlebars) down and slide it in. But I am planning on pulling it in a trailer too.

Hmm I made a quick make of a bike rack for the rear of my H3 that worked pretty good. It carries my Honda Rebel just fine. I know it's not 800 lbs but I think my racj would carry more weigtht without a problem. It fits into the receiver hitch and comes off as easy as it goes on. I carry a light weight rqamp in the bay to roll the bike on and off. So far so good!

I don't know if I have a picture of it or not but I know someone out here has taken one of it and posted it but can't remember who or where it is! Maybe if they read this they will post it for you!

Grant , I towed my 78 Goldwing behind the coach for 7 years. I built the trailor just for the bike. It was low to the ground for easy loading and was just barely nose heavy. I could throw a piece of lead on the very back and then unhook and move tjhe trailor veasy on pavement. They make purpose built trailors that you can modify to fit your bike. A covered one is nice but not as easy to load. I used a heavy canvas cover for long trips but you have to really watch for chafe. I like the lifts on the back of some coaches and have seen a couple lighter bikes on the front bumpers. Good luck, dave

My friend That owns Doc's Harley Davidson in Shawano, Wi. just bought a 45' Prevost and it had a real slick setup on it. it had 3 receivers that a lift would fit into. it would raise and lower buy air. it also had a receiver in it so you could pull another toad. I will call him tomorrow and get some info on it.

Nick.......I took my headers to Utah and had the Mormons coat the inside and out. Before I coated them, the temps were between 500 and 550 degrees, after coating, the temps were between 200 to 250 degrees.Unlike a car,the exhaust system is out in the open where everything is cooled,I can actually lay my leg on the headers while traveling down the road. The only real time that you feel the heat is when your at a signal/stop sign, and the radiator fan kicks on,you feel the heat from the motor then, but then if I flip a switch and reverse the rotation of the fan (it kicks the heat out then)I feel nothing..........Frank.
