Those engines came in green,black and red I always check the serial number something paint doesn't cover up to many people have been shafted thinking they had a silver 92 when they bought a old green engine with fresh silver paint from the paint overhaul people on ebay

The blacks came in older trucks they could be a green or silver model,the reds were a later emission engine

DD made an early 8V92 that was black with flames on the exhaust manifolds, called the owner operator.  I built a glider kit with a new one, it broke a rod at 259K.  Only 92 I ever had a problem with.

Well i ran it for four hours today - no black , white , or blue smoke.
There is a very small drip of oil where the shaft that drives the fan exits the block.
so far so good
