I was planning on using a 36" square shower base from Lowe's in my bus.  The problem I see is that the drain will be right where a lengthwise member frame  is.  I haven't been able to locate a decent shower base (36") that has the drain in one corner.  I'd hate to have to use a custom tile base for the shower.  Besides moving the hower out to the center of the bus or using a smaller shower, what have others done to overcome this?  Thanks for any tips or suggestions.

Call a plumbing supply place.  I was looking for a shower for my house and they said Mustee makes a shower base that has the drain on one end.  Now, I was looking at a 60" wide one so they may not do this for smaller bases.  www. mustee.com

David- I am using just what you need.  I have a Kohler 36" square shower pan that has the drain in one corner.  I used this since the bus floor makes a slight upward slant towards the rear, and that's where I wanted the shower.  I works perfectly.  This Kohler shower pan was not cheap (I thing around $300), but it is made very strongly (since I weigh 300lb), and can get it in designer colors.  Mine is platinum (light gray) and it has non skid built into it.  Check out Kohler.  Good Luck, TomC

Go to the Kohler web site and pull up shower receptors (strange name for a shower pan), and select squared receptors.  On the 3rd page is the K-9858.  It says 36x48, but it is a mis print-pull it up and it is the 36" square I am using.  It is now $521.00.  Believe me, it is worth it since it is built extremely well.  Good Luck, TomC

I have a 36" neo angle in mine and the drain is some what offset so it misses the rib by a few inches even with it pulled out from the outside wall about 4 3/4 inches at the very bottom of bus wall. I did this to make the wall plum at the top where the curve starts in the ceiling. Mine was from Lowes

Tom, that looks exactly like what I'm looking for.  Is it designed for three solid walls and one door (alcove installation) or for two doors sort of like a square neo-angle shower?  The reason I ask is that it looks like it just has the lip on two sides.  I might be looking at it wrong, though.  Thanks for the link.  I'll check locally and see what the price is; I might be able to get it a bit cheaper, as I used to know a guy at a plumbing supply house - hopefully, he's still there.

I used it as is with the two wall theory.  If you start at the drain-it is mounted forward towards left of the bus.  My bathroom is enclosed, and have both an entry into the shower with accordian door from the bathroom, and also a solid door into the hallway.  Thay way two can use the bathroom without intruding on ones privacy (mainly for guests).  The door into the hallway is nice, but we don't use it very often.  Don't know if I'd put it in my next bus.  But I will have an enclosed bathroom.  Personally, I dislike walk through bathrooms-if someone is using the bathroom, then the rear bedroom is blocked-just my opinion-your mileage will vary.  Good Luck, TomC
