MCI MC 8 shift cable

Has anyonehere changed the shift cable on a MC8? Is it a big job or fairly easy? Also does anyone know how long the cable is so I can get the right length?

Is Your shift cable broken or just stiff?  My mc7 with a ht70 was getting really stiff, I glued a piece of split hose around the upper end and forced auto transmission fluid into the cable and managed to get the cable freed up and has been fine for many years.  Just a thought.  John L

John L The cable is super stiff can hardly move it. and it looks like it is unfraying on the transmission end.
