Had a question started up my 1976 eagle and I have real bad air leak comming from a 2inch dia fitting on the Air tank next to the rear wheels. This fitting is mounted on the bottom of the tank and there are no lines attached to it. I figure it is a water drain or a high pressure release valve. Can I remove it and clean it or do I need to replace it BTW beating the side of it did not help.

Thanks Kerry ???

I don't have an Eagle so I don't know it in detail but it might be good to get a photo.  Lots can get changed in 35 years.  What the item is will determine if it can be cleaned or rebuilt or if you have to have a new one.

That is a automatic tank drain doubt you can stop it from leaking take it out and replace it with a pull type drain with a cable cost about 10 bucks that valve will cost you 40 Eagles have automatic drains on every tank unless they have been replace fwiw

It has a small needle valve in the center push on it with a`match stem it may stop
