Going to Niagara this weekend, any suggestions???

Hey guys,

The wife, boy and I are going to visit Niagara this weekend.  Do any of you have any sightseeing or eating suggestions?  We are only going to stay Saturday and Sunday.

Actually, it will be unseasonably warm this weekend, in the 40's and 50's for Saturday.

AS an American and frequent visitor to Niagara Falls. I really hate to say this, but go to the Canadian side. The park and view on the US side are beautiful, but the rest of the area is underdeveloped. There are few places to eat and not very good at that. Park the bus at one of the campgrounds on the US side and then drive over in your toad

Great idea.  We plan to go over the "rainbow bridge" into Canada while we are there.

Unfortunately, I don't have my bus anymore. 

Have you ever been on one of those boat rides?  Are they worth the price?

We went several years ago w/ kids and another family.  For sure ... stay on the Canadian side.  We did various tours while there, did the Kodak 360 deg. theatre, which was cool.  Did Maid of the Mist" which was cool.  With the kids being younger, we didn't do restaurants more than a (I believe) "Ruby Tuesday".  I am sure there are other great places.

Do you have Passports?  If not ask before crossing. We tried to get back in a few years ago and they gave us fits about the kids. The way they were acting we should have left them with them.  Visit the US side when it has been cold and see the ice above the falls. Worth a look.  Have fun.  Tom Y

We were there last Augest(beautiful). The Canada side is a lot more developed(besure to walk through the casino and dont misout on the outside walk way overlooking the falls at night is the better).Im not sure but I think as of 1/1/07 you will need a pasport to go across.The maid of the mist boat ride is the best way to get up close an personal also well worth the $( get tickets early in the morning , theytend to go fast!!!!! There is also a walking trip behind the falls thats also worth the money. most  of the tourtist stuff is on the Canada side . US side does have a Hard Rock Cafe ,an a smaller gift shop. Have fun & enjoy!!!!!

Hello.

Birth Certificate for everyone and photo id for the adults and you'll be fine with both parents there.

Right at the Falls is a little expensive, if you go up and over the hill on Lundy's Lane for a mile or so, you'll hit fast food mecca at normal prices and a bunch of motels that are much more reasonable than anything within sight of the Falls.

Prices should be fair, as it is slower this time of year.

Me thinks they pull the Maid of the Mist boats out of the water in Oct/Nov?  The boat ride is worth the price, it is a unique experience! Last time I was in the Falls (this summer) I did not see a Hard Rock Cafe. I'm not saying it is not there just I did not see it.

Hard Roack Cafe is close to directly off the end of the Canadian end of the Rainbow bridge, slightly downstream direction.

Just my $.02 for food , but if yer in the area of Buffalo you gotta try the Anchor Bar on Main Street for the home of the  Buffalo wings. For good BBQ try Kentucky Greg's in Depew, just outside of Buffalo. Enjoy whatever you decide. And stay warm

 "Stans" on the corner of Oliver and Wheatfield in N. Tonawanda. Tue All you can eat speghetti dinner $3.25 includes salad, bread and butter. Stan is 85 and still bussin tables!!
