Anyone know of where we might come across a muffler for our bus? Thanks

Hey Ruthi,

Get the dimensions and Inlet/Outlet placement and size.

Then search Walker mufflers.  http://www.walkerheavyduty.com/products/MediumHD.asp

They will have an exact fit or something you can make work.

My muffler replacement went from 1200.00 exact fit to 300.00 adapted.

I went to my local Peterbilt store.  Fun place to shop and they can get anything if you know what the specs are.

I'm presently having one made for $450. plus shipping.  I went to my local truck parts house and they had to measure it several times.  I'll let you know how it comes out.  I hope to get in a couple of weeks.

Ruthi do you have any plans to work in Eastern NC.  I heard there is a new Walmart being built in Greenville, NC.  I would like to meet you'll.

Rusty, I will tell Ken to call you, and my knitting skills are not to good, since I only have one good arm to do it with now, lol.  Art, if there is a Walmart being built, we most likely will be there. Dont know when yet. We only know a month or two in advance where we will be. I will let you know. Cliff, thanks again.

If you still have the original muffler it is part 39420224-7 from MCI.  Hang on to your wallet as they charge $1037 for it.  I would sure be looking at generic mufflers before shelling out that kind of money for a muffler.

Yeah, Brian, that sounds a bit pricey.

Buy you a Areo muffler with a built in resonator it will let your 60 series breath and he will love the sound cost around  200 bucks for a S/S muffler that will last with fitting you should come in under 400 bucks

Ruth,
I think that muffler Clifford is referring to is on eBAY for $119 dollars, of course some other parts will be needed to plumb it in.

Wonder what it would sound like out of that stack???

That Aero is the muffler we use on our bus.

At a trade show several years ago the booth next to ours was an Aero dealer.  My mouth watered the whole show.  I finally talked him into a "vendor discount" and I think I paid more than the ebay price.

I can't remember what I had before that muffler, but I don't recall that it made any difference in power.

The Aero is a bit loud.  Sounds good, but when I am on the Jakes, it really cackles.  When I get close to a town, I try to remember to turn the Jakes off.
