Some hillbilly rewired the bus panel trying to work the flasher lights as something else? Well apparently one of the relays was always on and since our ownership I've kept engine batteries connected the entire panel and drivers area has burned up INcluding my new seat and air mount :( all the wiring and dash components are gone we are just happy are dogs where with us at the time.. I have 1/2 a steering wheel it was at least contained to the front corner as the remaining area is metal till the front bench seat we built. 99% of our stuff is good just smelly. Local scrap yard says going by the empty weight should be around 2200 for it -tires .  Will be listing conversion parts in the forum later today. Found a travco motorhome we are going to buy in a pinch unless someone has a better idea?

Eric, so so sorry to hear this. You have contagious enthusiasm...keep it alive. Please get another bus...we need positive peeps like you around this club...and young ones too :-) You can't get a hold of an MCI chassis or another skoolie chassis?

I try to be positive our 1st bus mice ate the main harness so that was ruff but repairable...this just sucks we are sleeping in at as we've already parted with our apt. Our house lights and such operate yet although I've isolated it to the rear that is our bedroom area. we've got a little time But I intend on leaving for BK rally and NOT returning to Ohio till springing would just not spend the winter in a damaged immobile bus not to mention the main water feed for aux heat was at the bottom box so all those lines busted and the bus smells of coolant and electrical burn/charred seat.

Super stink...this is a major bummer....hunting on craigslist for you guys...even a shell right now would be a great start versus your current situation...

So sorry to here of your loss. I know that can be a big set back.

Not getting nosy but trying to help out:

1. What kind of money are you lookin to spend on a new unit?
2. What brand?
3. How far are you willing to drive to look at a new unit?
4. What area of the country are you in?

Eric,

Keep busing.  Unfortunatley too late, but there was a very nice 1999 Orion V at the e-place about a week ago.  Owner was ASKING about $8,000 but was smart enough to post a video of it heading down Intestate 95 at about 70 mph.  So, they are out there!

Tough break.  But it sounds like you are looking forward already.  If that Eagle is not rusty, that might really be a great deal.
