Hey folks,

Returned last week from Yellowstone National Park (not our only stop but, was the furtherest west we ventured from our beginning in Tennessee).

We climbed two mountain passes in excess of 10,000 ft.  Each climb set off the audible alarm for engine coolant @ 210 degrees not very deep into the climb.  Immediately used the mister and brought the temperature down to under 205.  Continued to intermittenly spray the radiator with water using the switch on the dash.  The temperature never again reached the 205 mark during either climb.  Don't know how scientific all this is but, it works!

We were gone 3 1/2 weeks.
Traveled 4418 total miles.
Used 605 gallons of diesel. (9 hrs on gen set)
Spent $2,304 total for fuel.
Paid average of $3.80 per gallon.
Paid high price of $4.21.
Paid low price of $3.47.
Spent $0.52 per mile in fuel.
Averaged 7.3 mpg from S60 Detroit.
Bus weighed in @ 43,500 lbs.
Had wonderful time.  No problems.  Bus did as was told!
Highlight of trip:  spending time with Lin and Wayne Schell.

Gary,

Nice to hear about the mister. Did you install them yourself?

I like your stats.  I had calculated out once that it cost me 50 cents a mile to travel.  That was a few years ago.
Sounds like it was a wonderful trip.

Sounds like a fun trip.  Are you "all the way home"?  Glad the trip went OK and the misters worked for you.  Lemme know when you're settled and you have time for a phone call.   BH "the Factotum"

Hi Kwajdiver,

Yes, I installed the misters all alone.  Easy job and very inexpensive.  Go back to April 21, 2012 in the posts - you'll find how I stumbled through it.
