you can easily get coach shells for 5K, and some good mechanical ones for not much more, and the nice RE skoolies cost close to that.  So i guess it is more a matter of choice now that the market is in the tank. After a couple of conventional skoolies starting back 30 or so yrs ago, i got two coaches, after working on my friends eagle, and am generals, and fish bowls, flx's and the like. After 16 yrs I'm gonna let my brother mess with my tired coach, after his wife sold his 4106 when he went to Oshkosh... Currently i am finishing up a RE thomas with a cat Eng, n 4 spd Allison, cause parts are very plentiful here. I have spent more than twice as much money on the thomas as either of the coach busses, with all systems being redundant for a change.  The main point here is that it is up to the builder which platform he chooses, depending on his needs and lifestyle.  either way, it takes cubic money to build a usable home...

Ain't that the truth?

I know we all have different tastes, but we are working hard to get our coach looking as nice as possible on the outside since we have been told over the phone that some parks wanted photos of our coach before they approved it. A decent paint and graphic scheme, stainless rim liners, polished stainless skins, and a good attitude are four things that will go a long way in continuing a solid relationship with parks. On another note, why on earth does it cost so much for a parking spot for a coach with a simple hose sewer and power connection? At the nightly prices of some parks, I'm better off staying at a hotel for the night.
