B.O. is correct. That is a catch can for your air box drains.

That thing is hanging pretty low, drain it and get a good idea of how much your losing by collecting it after a long trip. Gives you an idea of the condition of your motor.

Scott the air boxes are where the air is forced to by the blower and when the pistons go down bast them the air flows into the cylinder.

They are one of the first places you look when troubles shooting leaks, etc.

They have drains coming off them that allow unburnt fuel/excess oil to drain @ idle rather than it to pool up and cause trouble

Ok, so I drained it today. Big phatty nut was tight...busted my chin on my hitch when it came loose.  ::) Anyway, about a quart of oil came out. I've never drained it before. Owned the coach since Feb of 2010. Driven coach 3500 miles. Not sure when it was last drained (previous owner?) We've idled the coach quite a bit. Sometimes overnight. Anyway...what is a "lot" and what is a "little"?  We're setting out for Wisconsin (from Florida) in a month. Should be a great test run for how much it collects over that haul.

Scott IRCC it was often recommended to drain it each time that a service was done.

IMHO I'd do like you are. Run it to WI and drain it again. See what ya got and just plan to drain it every so often like once a month, or every 3000 miles or something like that until you get a feel for when it needs it.
