scrap or save military bellhousing

My military 8V-71T came with an aluminium bell housing that is smaller than the stock SAE one, and has about 3" less depth.  It may be SAE 0.  I didn't use it, obviously, I have no idea what it might fit and I am trying to decide if I move it to Tatamagouche or scrap it.  It weighs about 100 lbs.

Any idea what that bell housing could be used for?
