My bus  has a slider in the right front passenger window.  Does anyone know where I can find one for either left or right side in the rear position?  Parts book show they were made but internet search turns up nothing.  Thanks.  JM

left rear is the same as the right front, they are interchangeable. They might even share the same part number. Don't know about the right rear, never seen one. Try luke @ US coach.
Some are called, some are sent, some just got up and went.

Boy they sure arent the same on my MC5 and as AFAIK the 5 6 7 and early 8 use the same windows.

sorry you are right, had brain fade there for a minute. Got my positions mixed up. the middle and rear windows on each side are the same, not the front and rear. I took my middle window on the right side and moved it to the rear to get rid of the bathroom vent flap thingy in the rear window.

Yeah the back of the back windows slant down. The front of the front windows curves up.  So no swap there.  Does Luke handle used parts like these?  Summers coming and this is going to be my air con.   :(

Hi John,

Ted Campbell of Coach Maintenance in Williams, CA just parted out an MC-7 and has another one planned for parting out.  The windows were kept.  (530) 473-5544 or www.coachmaintenance.com.  Good luck!

Most of the 5's have all fixed glass except the left front and right rear are sliders. Some do have right front and left rear sliders, but not many. I dont know what 6's, 7's and 8's have/had, but I would like to find a right front and left rear slider.

The earlier MC5 and the MC7 were built during the transition period.

Opening windows were still desirable by some operators, just because they didn't know any better, the coach they were replacing had opening windows, and what do you do if the AC fails?

So, there are quite a few MC5 and MC7 that came with opening windows.

The practice lingered to a certain extent with the MC8, Greyhound liked to spec the right front and the left rear as opening, often doing a permanent fix to the left rear window, since the passengers wouldn't leave the darn thing closed...wreaks havoc on the HVAC to have those windows open...

and was finally put to rest with the MC9, where there was no option to open the windows.

Amazingly, there were quite a few of these vintage coaches that came with no washrooms too...

Try to get a high mileage day in when you have to stop for the customers to use the loo every 90 minutes...

happy coaching!

Thanks Steve, I'll check with Coach.   The 5's windows look similar but I do not know if they will swap.  Any thoughts.  The #5 sliding sash part number (for a model 7) is 3f-27-246.  j m
