Several years ago, I saw a coach here in MN that had those D-ring folding steps up the side of it. Two row, offset. I was not able to see how they worked, or talk to the guy, but it seemed like
a good idea at the time. My only concern would be getting back down. Going backward over the curve of the roof might pose some problems getting your feet set on the steps.

Personally, I chose a different route. I built an aluminum ladder into my ceiling that folds up flat into the ceiling when not in use. While I have still not completed installing the steps, it seems
to work pretty well. Some day I'll complete it, and then maybe I'll build my rooftop deck and install some solar.

I'd love to do that...can you post some photos of your setup? Even if incomplete...? Really curious to see them...
