This may be a little odd, but could be a real steal.  It seems that the parts are worth far more than the price. Just saw the listing and thought it interesting.

A friend called and asked if I knew anything about that bus.

In about 2001 a fellow by the name of Jerry Russel was putting a Series 60 in an eagle with a rear radiator.  I went to his house and looked at the bus.  I have tried to find my pictures, but no luck.  If that is the same bus, his workmanship was pretty good from what I recall.

As others have said, if you are interested, take a good look at how the bus was lengthened.  I am not a fan of cutting a bus in half and adding 5 feet.  Has been done many times, but the engineer in me makes me very concerned.

It's sad to see someones dream abandoned and left to rot.  The photos on his site shows it was going to be a nice coach, someone is getting a good deal.

Clifford, thanks for the link.  The photos brought back memories.

The fellow that was thinking about the bus did quite a bit of research of the sales site and I think he got some additional photos.  He said that there was a lot of water damage on the inside.  He thought that the floors were damaged pretty badly.

That would suggest that Jerry got rid of the bus quite some time ago, since he had it inside per the photos and when I looked at it.

r u kiddin me?  the rust showing on that thing is heavy.  also, there are not real engine pics, i couldn't find a real pic of the engine, although i'm sure there is one.  why would you put $25k in a transmission of a bus with rusted out frame?  The aquahot wasn't tested, nor the dishwasher/washer/dryer/or for that matter, even the hotwater system.

After looking at the pics and what isn't showing, you'all need to be carefull.  Rusty frame, MAK extension, small stuff and an cabin rebuild, will need a few bucks to spend in making this a full timer unit.

we'll prbably part it out.

Tom, that ad has so many pictures and different ways to getting to the pictures.  It is likely that I missed some, but I did not see any big rust issues.  The rust I saw looked like surface rust to me.

You can see the engine details on the Russel's site that Clifford posted.

The interior sure needs some re-do, but it looks like a reasonable project to me.

I see that it is over $9K with an hour to go.  Probably going past a reasonable value.

Clifford, you brought up an interesting thought:  quality of MAKs stretches.  I attended a workshop at his shop in 1999.  Did not see much work going on.  We did look at an 01 his folks had widened (maybe stretched - don't recall).  The work looked OK, but I was not familiar with Eagles at that time.  ANYONE have any firsthand knowledge of his stretches?

Wow!!!
Someone is going to steal that bus! I see the clock is running out and it is only at 9,100.
The engine/tyranny combo and the gen would bring twice that. Wish I had money and time!

Was it anybody on here? If not, I'm sure this is not the last we will hear about this bus.
Even at 16k... I think the buyer got a good start to a good conversion at a good price. Most of the hard stuff is done.
The only thing I really didn't like about the bus is the funny looking extension on the back of the bus.

WOW !!!!!  Looks to me like someone just got a deal of a lifetime. !!!
Maybe I'm missing something ?? I have studied this bus for the whole auction. Looked at
Every picture ten times. It's amazing... But also very Sad. Not sure what happened ??
But seems like maybe this guy died ? And it was pushed outside with the hatches open ??
I don't like the dash or the bubble on the rear.... But she is still one awesome unit.
It's almost hard to believe ...... Heck just the series60 alone with 34 thousand miles.is a deal at the
Sold price. !!!!!!  And then the trans.... Wow is the word !!!! I know clifford knows 25 g's on the transmission.
I also kinda wonder.... Could the high dollar batteries still be good after all those years. ????
Sorta..kinda.. feels good to be back out here on the board.
You all take care....
