Roof to Basement Air Project

Awesome work Tom. One of my projects in the future is to install a basement air or at least have a duct system for air distribution. I remember looking at a professional Eagle conversion once that had a basement air setup ( I think it was a custom job), but I noticed the bay the A/C was mounted in wasn't vented. I would have thought it needed a vent system for the hot air? When considering air distribution, how far can the A/C blow the cold air and still be effective?

You see the new S&S using the self contained units made by Airxcel (RVP-Coleman) for basement air now a dealer told me they run around 1000 bucks for the ParkPac model fwiw over 500 cfm and draw 15 or less amps
