Pulled the bus in the shop this mornin to pull the genset to replace the belt.

One of my employees noticed fuel leaking from under the tank. I looked in the stones where it was parked

and I saw the big wet spot. I figured I lost a 1/2 a tank of fuel...bummer!

Now the genset is done it's time to investigate the fuel tank...Wish me luck!

I have already been there done that.  I pulled my tank on my MCI 7 and found the plate for the 2nd tank if it had been installed was leaking at the gasket.  Darn gasket was only 33 years old don't understand why it started leaking, guess they just don't make them good, HAHA I had the old plate taken off and then a new one welded on, no more gasket, Total cost was $85.00 to test and weld the plate on, plus two trips to Phoenix, 200 miles round trip each.  I was a happy camper because of how good the tank was and what the total cost was.  It was a bear to pull out.
Good Luck

Update,

We found a rotted weld at the rear bottom joint. Luke and Mike found out that my tank is the same as a MC9's tank.

Thats great because, a new tank is big big bucks.. Thanks US Coach!  They pulled a tank from a 9 in the yard and installed

it. [fit like a glove]. I'll be camping again here tonight because, I want to have a couple things checked tomorrow.

Nick, What kind of Gen do you have? I have a 10KW Onan Quiet diesel and it's a major to replace the belt. Had to change mine last week. Only has 2,000hrs. My old used gen in my last bus had same belt (used) when I sold after 3 1/2 years. There is a price for quiet. Merry Christmas, Charlie B.

Nick Badame Refrig/ACC

Hi Charlie,

I have the 12.5 QD with 2600 hrs, I have replaced the belt 2 times allready but with the wrong belt....

This time I had NC BOB's friend look my serial # up too find the proper belt #...  Sure enough it takes a metric belt!

Almost $50 bucks too..[I baught 2]  But, boy it fits nice now, and was able to get it tight enough.

I don't want to replace it anymore >:( >:(   8 hr job with help of a fork lift [700lbs]

Hope to catch up with you soon Charlie, Have a great holliday yourself..

Any chance maybe a return line is leaking from your engine or genset?

I am sending you my Nextel and cell #'s by PM if you run in to a problem down my way....
