I'd always planned to convert a 2 stroke to veg oil and rejected S60's as less suitable and needlessly expensive and the better fuel consumption is not important as my fuel is free.

But there are some great deals on conversions with S60's and I'd hate to reject the outright if they are suitable engines as I'll be able to get repairs and parts for more years and I want to get the right bus first time out.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks, Paul.

The 2 stroke engines uses injection that's around 2,000psi tip pressure.  The Series 60 is using around 25,000psi tip pressure-BIG difference. The only system you could use on a Series 60 would be heated VO.  The cold, thick VO would blow the injectors on the S60.  Once the oil is up to thinning temperature, I would think the S60 injectors could flow the VO.  Current Diesels are rated for only B5 (5% VO) because of even higher (32,000psi) injection pressures.  Good Luck, TomC
