I need a reasonably quick responce to this if it will help me (them).

What is the current going price for a turbo on a 60 series

I was awakened by a phone call by a friend on the road running 18mph smoking like a freight train running flat out up a hill LOL

Just want to make sure some road service type doesn't fillet him on the cost of the part.

That is going to depend on the turbo and engine model he has they will be from $650 to $1200 if he has a EGR engine he will pay big time.
He is sure it is the turbo most of the time if a series 60 doesn't read the fuel and air they won't fuel enough to smoke

good luck

Joe did he FOD the compressor wheel?   I highly doubt that the bearings went away that quick.

I replaced mine this summer.   240K on the clock.

Not really sure he said all power went away and he lost mainfold pressure on the gauge. I was assuming the black smoke at that point LOL maybe it wasn't with computer control. Had him check the rubber plumbing couplers those were good. He is in the hands of a road service guy now, he will be OK.

Senators kept very good service records and they passed on, may be 1 has already popped and this is a second replacemet dint know for sure gotta  have them look.
