Just wondering if any on was going to be at Disney over the Thanksgiving holiday. We check in on Nov 20th and check out Dec 2nd, This will be our longest stay at one time in the bus. I just wish fuel prices would come down but nothing I can do about it but pay the price. Jason

I sure wish I was but I'll be stuck here in the snow and cold. I REALLY hate snow and cold!!     >:(

Heather and I will be in AZ for Thanksgiving, but we're returning Nov. 30th to Orlando. It would be fun to see your coach and say hi. Where will you be staying?

How is the bus running and how did the trans and cooler set up work out??

Sounds like a fun trip -- we have not been on a good long trip in a spell.

We are inbound to FL right now for the holiday season. We'll be in Altamonte Springs (north of Orlando) next week, then moving out to the coast in Melbourne for a month. So we'll be in the area over that time period - and sticking around for the Arcadia rally.

John - Ft. Wilderness is pricey. We looked into staying there in early Jan (as we're considering running in the Disney 1/2 marathon), and it was $89/night.

We've got members here with lots of Fort Wilderness experience.

Refresh our memories, and set these new folks straight as to the terrific value and experience of a Fort Wilderness stay.

Some have posted before that there's so much to do in the campground, they have no time for the rest of Disney.

happy coaching!

Well it is expensive that's for sure. When we stayed there it was the pits and I vowed never to go back and I live about 45 min from there. No place to walk the dig other than pine needles, no grass for a dog walk, no grass around our coach, just brown mucky water in 3 sides. The One side that had dead trees had a large commercial rodent trap sitting about 10 feet from the back of our bus. Mosquitos everywhere which made it nice too.
The camping fees do not cover any fees to get into Disney. EVERTHING is extra except the ferry ride from the camp to Disney and the bus shuttle to downtown Disney! They pick you up and drop you off for free. The resturants are way over priced too.
We had friends that go there every year. Key word, had! They don't speak to me any longer because I voiced my opinion about how disappointed I was screw going there. Oh well, it is what it is and maybe it has changed but they aren't getting my money to find out.
Oh and if you have any complaint/s take it up with mgmt while you are there. I waited until I got home to make some calls to save my friends any embarrassment and was told mgmt doesn't talk on the phone and I must submit my concerns in writing. I did just that and I received a call back almost immediately. The end result was I got a refund and surprising, the lady on the phone agreed that the loop I was in was in pretty bad condition.
My friend requested this particular loop as it was the only loop for big rigs but after walking around, I found many other loops with big rigs AND even grass.
We made the best of our stay by going to downtown Disney which is fun.
Bring lots of cash or cc's. :)

Yes the $89.00 is just for camping as ACE said, The reason we are staying there is we won't be bringing our toad so the disney shuttle service works for us we don't leave disney. we got our tickets for 10 days for 4 of us with the park hopper and water park pass for around $1650.00. Jason
