Why I like my skoolie even more

Did 1644 miles this weekend. At 1611 miles I was part of the suicide of an extremely large whitetail buck. Had this been an RV or a coach, I fear it would not have turned out like it did.

Hi Opus, I saw you going through Butte last Thursday. I didn't see any damage, must have been pre-deer strike. I was hauling a load of cows to Rocker.

It's gotten so bad with deer that I hate to drive at night. Glad it was a minor incident. John M.

Awww John, you should have made yourself known.

Deer strike was last night, 30 miles from home. We dont hardly drive at night but left Laurel yesterday and ended up stopping for chow in Missoula. You know, its not "if" you hit something, its "when".

Wish I had some cows left to haul, the market sure is hot!!

Ha...nope, never even stopped after the incident. Nowhere to stop safely.

Unfortunately I have fibreglass front and rear ends, so if the same happened to my bus it may not be quite as unscathed as yours. BBAA are some of the toughest buses out there. Mind you, I still have a very hefty full frame all the way from the front to the rear bumpers, and the bumpers themselves are 1/4" thick 90,000 PSI steel. This was one of many reasons I chose my bus. Perhaps I should get one of those bumper stickers that says "You are my crumple zone".

I've got plenty of belly storage. You just pack too much stuff with you...LOL!

Maybe your skoolie does, but wouldn't it be nice to have a coach's big cargo boxes to put all your tanks, generator, a mini-split or two, your tools, parts, lawn chairs, etc. in. No need to hang tanks under the bus, which, depending on your engineering skills, could be a liability risk.
