I didnt know how to post in final arrival, so I thought I would put it here. My father passed away yesterday evening here in our home. Truth be told, he was probably a bigger Bus nut than me, he was talking about em when I was just a lil kid. He was really excited to see our MC5 come home, and we all wish he could have lived to take another spin. He was an old WW2 guy, and he will be sorely missed for a long, long time. His greatest love was flying, and his greatest accomplishment soloing a float plane as well as a SeaBee sea plane out of San Francisco bay in the early 50's. With the burdens of raising a family he was not able to complete his pilots license, but his passion carried him all the years. In all of that, what really got him animated was talking about glassy water landings, and he loved them most of all. You cant judge your distance down to the water where you would normally flare to land, so you set your sink rate and just let it come down and gently kiss the water. I can only pray that he gets to do that again when he gets where he's goin.

 Paul,
Sorry to hear about your Dad,,,take comfort in the fact that he passed right where he needed to be. I know you took great care of him. He sounds like a guy I would have liked to have known.

Our WW2 and Korea vets are going fast. And this reminds me I have a Korean Vet who lives a mile away I need to go visit...

I'm very sorry for your loss and my heartfelt condolences to all of his loved ones. The greatest generation is going away and I'm particularly sorry for that.

I lost my father when I was 25 and not a day goes by now 25 years later that I don't think of the man. My dad was Korean war vet.
