We don't live too far from Anahuac. We might go to the Fest this year. Lived here most of my life, but have never been. Since you got property out yonder, do you by chance know Mac Jones? He used to guide gator hunts I think.

Pretty historical place.  Just to the east is where Sam Houston decided to make his stand after retreating the Texicans away from the Mexican army.  On a military standpoint it was a perfect place.  He couldn't be outflanked as the bogs in the marshes around there were impossible to pass an army through.

Clifford a buddy of mine won the big gator contest 2 years ago.  He had it in the bag of a truck and lifted the tarp so I could see it.  His head looked like the size of a wheel barrel.  Those big dog eaters gove me the creeps.  Julie and I might have to make a run over there.  She is leaving for Fort Knox awaiting the arrival of a new Grandbaby.  My step son just got home from Afghanistan for the birth and then he has to go back.  Julie is going to stay until the baby gets here so I might be traveling alone if I can make it.  I would sure like to head over and put a face to a name.
