Yanmar 3TNV70 7kw Diesel Generator Set

Anyone have any experience with these?

At $3999 it seems like a good buy.

I have a 650-DS generator from martin /  with a 3tna72e-s yanmar engine , probably similar to yours ??

I found martin to be helpful over the phone.  Haven't had to mess with my genset much other than pull the rack and clean it up from years of sitting.

Unless something has changed the Yanmar 3TNV70 engine is a 3600 rpm engine they may have 1800 rpm model but I never saw one and if I remember they are not a Japan built Yanmar either

This is called a "New Isuzu 3CA1 Yanmar 3TNV70 7kw Diesel Generator Set" on the bay.

Since both make diesel engines it is kind of a mystery to  just which it is! Appears the set may be made by Yanmar and engine by Isuzu. In any case, both are good brands as far as I know.

It is listed as 1800 rpm.

I'll give Martin a call if I decide to get this one but right now my used Westerbeke marine genset is coming together.

Again, thanks to all. I'm 2600 miles from home with no AC so I have to have something!!
