I am needing some ideas of what to do for vinal on my bus. I have a budy who is going to do some for me cheap and I want something to break up the long white strip down the side of my bus.  Ideas or pics would be great. thanks

Here is our first rough scetch.

Are thoughts are that we can add to or redo this later after some of the windows are removed.

Input welcome.

It's all a matter of personal preference.  I really don't like all those swoopy swirlies and prefer a simple geometric design.

For example. in pipopak's second link, I like the 92 Country Coach (row 2, col 3) and the Liberty (row 6, col 2).

I like looking at that stuff so much it almost depresses me.  :-\

I get depressed from looking at all those swirly paint jobs too, but for a different reason. To me they demonstrate an almost complete lack of imagination on behalf of their owners - there's an infinite choice of graphical possibilities out there, but everyone just copies everyone else, with minor variations.

I understand that when you're buying a $100,000 motorhome you need to keep the residuals in mind, so choosing the de-rigueur big-swirly-pattern probably makes sense. But to me, building a bus conversion from scratch almost obliges you to think for yourself and go with a fresh design of your own rather than following the RV herd and trying to pretend that your bus is another $100,000 off-the-shelf motorhome.

When the time comes, my bus will be getting a very simple two-tone paint scheme, something along the lines of this:

A shameless plug for my business - visit www.magazineexchange.co.uk for back issue magazines - thousands of titles covering cars, motorbikes, aircraft, railways, boats, modelling etc. You'll find lots of interest, although not much covering American buses sadly.

well almost everything I own is red and my oldest son had input aswell on the design so maybe he had lighting mcqueen in mind lol.

Something else I should of put out there is that 99% of the time our bus will have either a red race car or a red derby car behind it.

The two tones and semetrical designs just dont fit my family. We arent of the norm when it comes to my family.  We are all adrenaline junkys who race or derby. All of us except our 16 month old anyways. ;D

keep the input coming.

What about doing a decal that goes over the windows using that perforated vinyl that is opaque from the outside but clear from inside, like the advertisement one?.

this decal is just temporary, after we finish the bus we may consider something like that.

The big white stripe down the side just drives me nuts for some reason.
