Dear Friends:

I am curious about year of manufacture, horsepower, etc. The previous owner said it used to be DDEC. He converted it to mechanical, because mechanics who know the computerized models are scarcer then honest politicians and well-loved ex-mother-in-laws down here.

My serial#06RF00715680677BR3. That first "6" might be a "G".

The bill of sale for the engine says: "6V92T (532) STD.", whatever that means.

Thanks in advance!

Don't know what the 532 is because the cubic inch displacement of the engine is 552.  Standard usually means the bearings use standard size-that the crank has not been reground yet.  The best indication of what you have is to pull one of the valve covers and tell us what the round tag on the injector says including the color.  Then we'll know what the hp setting on the engine is also. Good Luck, TomC

Go to your nearest Detroit Diesel Dealer

Give them the engine serial#

ask them to pull the  "DWEER"

Detroit Diesel's ---> "ENGINE EQUIPEMENT RECORD QUERRY"

It will have a HUGE anount of data about your engine

some D/D shops will even do it via a phone request and fax you the copy
