Opus,

Looks great to me.  Where did you paint it?  What paint did you use?  How long to shoot it?

Is there a theory behind the Green and Tan color combination?

Again....good work,  All paint jobs should be viewed and admired from this distance. ;D ???

You had to ask details!  You couldnt leave well enough alone could you....lol.

I painted it in the hay shed, we used Rustoleum and a brush, it took us 7 days part time [anal retentive people, we are.]  I wanted all green, she wanted some tan.  Actually, with all the gravel roads, the tan is good to hide all the dust/mud.

It came out quite nice for what it is.  It actually looks real good from up to 8' away.  I wanted it to look good going down the highway, and it will.  Its a $200 paint job to get rid of the yellow.

F A N T A S T I C !!!!!!!!

I only thought it looked good before.  Now it is simply gorgeous.  Good for you guys.

That tan will hide the road dust.  What an angle.  I just knew there had to be a good reason and yours is a good one.

Thank you for sharing your adventure,

You have my support and admiration.

sorta like the stainless thread... but if your paint is thick enough, you can start with 600 or 400 if its like mount everest finish and then color sand to 2000 then 3m buff and then polish.....

Paint the wheels white, you'll be surprised at how much more cheerful it will look.

All my big trucks and 4104 have white wheels. My 4107 has Alcoas but I hate them!

Nice job, looks great!

I think the wheel would look awesome in Tan also! It would be one of the colors already on (not adding one) and should blend in perfect.

Nope do the front wheels in Tan and the back in Green, LOL

Opus that looks great, Nice Job. Kinda looks like the front of the bus is coming out of the tan section.

If the green is "coming out" of the tan section.. then opus could airbrush the black line to resemble a blanket...  ;D Sorry couldn't help myself.. I think these bluebirds are great. If this is a vote for wheel colors, I would vote for green front and tan back... thanks again for your picture.

The paint job looks very good.

Something I learned on a transit property long ago.  "A dirty bus, with white wheels, will always look clean -- a clean bus, with black wheels, will always look dirty."

You might get some white posterboard, cut it in two circles to cover the wheels on one side, and stand way back to see what you think.  Spray a set tan, see what you think.  If you go with tan, all the way around, you'll get the appearance benefit of light-colored wheels, and retain the paint scheme.  Cheap (easy) way to experiment.
