Hi All,

Just an update here.  I got a call this morning from Marty at the Bay Cities DD shop here in San Jose Ca.  He explained to me that the machinist thinks he found the vibration problem with the 671 that was rebuilt ~70K ago in San Diego.  George Thornhill had it rebuilt there.  It turns out according to the machinist that the crank is 20 thou on the mains, but has 10 thou bearings installed.  So we have been running with 10 thou play for about 70 K !!  Miraculously the crank is ok according to what they can see and mic.  Probably because George is a user of Lucas heavy duty engine oil additive!  This all started when the discovered too much endplay in the crank, and pulled the pan off to check the trust shims.  Well one thing lead to another and I am sitll amazed.  This shure could account for the vibration we had.  Will know for sure when they are done.

Everything else is never ok, but there are some things that are peace of mind busters if you know what I mean.  I have a number of other items I will be dealing with on this coach.  But I will be much much more happy if I can sit at the steering wheel and not have it vibrate!  LOL!  Bill T.l
