  1936 was hot everywhere, and very few places have ever exceeded the records from that year. The lowest flow of water at the St Anthony dam in Minneapolis was 1936. As hot as 1988 was it never beat the record. And there is some knowledge that the late 1800's were even hotter. Read Laura Ingalls biography, when she and Almonso traveled south out of De Smet, some of the temps she wrote down are staggering.

  Heres records by state, pretty unreal temps.
