I can barley type from the tears in my eyes.  Laughing and thinking about all the times I've clocked my self.  Been there done that.  I keep hitting my head on the electrical panel door under the driver's window. When it's open it is in perfect alignment with just above my cap brim. Large rubber corners are in it's future.  I am also sporting a nice scar on my left for arm from a "Bus Bite".  The bottom edge of a cargo door in the open position makes a nice gouge when you don't think about where you are going. This thing is almost as bad as getting "The Cessna diamond" on your forhead from an aileron.

The lessons of youth can last.  One of the things I learned as a young bus driver, was to always re-latch the baggage bay door handle (GMC 4905's), after opening.  That small flap of metal, sticking out, is painful.  To this day, when I open the baggage bay door, I push the handle back flush with the door.

So, I guess that means ---- I've done it too.

Wear one of those fancy Bike Riders helmets.  You-be stylin. ;D  A little chain mail in other spots would serve the average bus gladiator well.

I've hit my head so often, my wife is surprised if I don't have an injury of some kind after visiting our coach.  I've hit my head on the mirrors so often, I involuntarily flinch when I walk by them now.

Last year before I was retired, I had to attend a meeting the day after I ran full flight into the raised tailgate.  Cut across my nose and a gash in my forehead.  I looked like I'd been mugged.

If I or someone else hits a real ringer, right away I express serious concern and check for for injury... to the metal that was hit. HaHa What else can you do? At least it lightens things up a bit.

My wife wants to know when I walk into the mirrors on our Bus, what good it does when I yell at it.
Actually I told her I couldn't not tell her, it is a guy thing, LOL

I believe Mythbusters (or something similar) did an episode - that revealed swearing actually reduces the pain.

Being taller than the average fool my head actually has callouses on it but what really hurts is when you walk around the back and bark your shin on the hitch sticking out of the receiver tube.
