We're now deep into the midwest, Junction City, KS.  Put about 900 mi of I-70 behind us since Sunday Morning.  We didn't mean to go that far, but the weather sucked, St. Louis calling for more bad storms, so we just kept at it.

The engine has run great.  I haven't seen any leaks, and we ran close to 65 most of the way.  Temp stayed around 180, oil about 40psi.  Good stuff.  Great when all is going well after re-installing the engine.

I hope this doesn't jinx it.

We're going to Dodge City to see if we can find Matt Dillon, or better yet, Miss Kitty.  We plan to be at our new job/campground by the weekend in Denver.  Anyone nearby, send me an email or pm, Dodge city or Denver area.

Pray for continued good run, warmer weather, and safe driving by all.  :)  What a lot of water we've seen.  Swollen creeks and rivers the whole trip out from Ohio and more rain forecast.  :( :(

After more than 4 days of heavy rain, more lightning than ive seen in more than half my life, flooding from over a foot of rain, dogs so shell shocked they fear going outside...I told a friend today that it wouldnt take much more to pull the kid out of school and go somewhere just to get away from it, if even for a day. But which way. Looks like rain in every direction right now.

Glad to hear shes purring, probably more than a few here grinnin with ya.

Tom - I was recently in Dodge City - I stayed in the parking lot north of Applebee's but got to meet the owner of Central Station a bar/grill (hispanic family, forget their name) and told him next time through I might stay in his parking lot (plenty of room) - you might check with them as it's right in town at 207 east Wyatt Earp - HTH

Tom,

What's the gig in Denver?  Where is it located? How long you going to be there?

Maybe we'll see you this summer...

Sorry, 'bout the weather.  Glad to here the bus is good.  Love these updates.  Keep doin' it to it, like Sonny Pruitt usta do it to it.

Palmetto Cove is presently under a Tornado watch.  Expecting rain and wind tomorrow.

Dodge City was a almost a waste of 40 gal of $4.29/gal diesel.  The museum didn't look like much, the historic downtown wasn't, the new State owned Casino is like buying a lotto ticket and expecting to win.  The only good was a great steak at Casey's Cowtown.  Not much to look at on the outside, but inside was OK and Mike Casey is the long time owner who takes an interest in his customers.

Also on the good side-the bus is still fine, 60-70mph back up to i-70 and over to a little whole in the wall town name Siebert with a small sounds-better-than-is campground.  This place is not much to look at.  But the owners are helpful, pleasant, free wifi, FHU 50a and TV.  We'll leave for Golden in the AM, then to our new summer job N of Granby on Friday.

For those interested: We'll be at Stillwater campground in Arapaho Nat'l Forest all summer.  Friday's forecast 47/23, saturday 31/21, and so on.  Sure wish i was at SEBN or at least temps.

Saw Weather channel tornados.  You all keep your heads down and tied to something real heavy.

Craig, we'd like that.  great to see you again.

Tom and Fran,  be prepared for snow.  We have had a bit the last few days (7500 feet) and you will run into a bunch in Granby.

As soon as things settle down with our daughters cancer surgery next week, we will try to get up to see you guys.

It looks like we will be about 200 miles apart. Maybe we can meet in the middle for dinner.
Have a safe trip.

Out the front window, and on the passenger side, snow capped peaks on the other side of a mountain lake (which is still frozen).  :) :)  Snow drifts here where they plowed it out.

The only downer- lows of 29, then 22, then 16, then 18, then 22.   :( :( :(

Today, ran up through Denver, stopped at WallyWorld to stock up, then up to 12000ft at the pass, at 25mph.  Then of course down again, also at 25-30 in 2nd gear.  Engine temp max 190, tranny maybe 210.  Tranny heats up as bad coming down as up, with the jakes holding us back.  But no issues other than my white knuckles needlessly.

John, i'm glad the winds missed you guys.  Evidently, so much hot air at your gathering that it deflected the bad stuff around and away from you.  ::) ::)  i didn't temp check the anti-freeze.  i thought it was -32 to start with and we didn't add much water.  We did add some straight anti-freeze. so should be ok??

Jim, that'd be great.   We'd like to see you if you can  get away as your daughter recovers.

Redbus, sure, i'd drive a 100 miles to have dinner with you two.  Lookin forward to it.  i'll bet our view is better than yours is.  na, na, nane nana.  ;D ;D
