Got your attention! Just a reminder in the Ohio valley things are bad ! lots of tornadoes ! lots of flooding! 8 inches of rain in last 4 days 6 to 8 more expected over next 3 days plus more sever weather.. Hold up if you headed this way if you can.  Don't drive into water when you can't see road.  Try to avoid the high cross winds  sw to ne(some her up to 110mph) 70 mph substained.  Other wise come on down be glad to visit.     High from flooding waters but staying out of the rain.  Bob

LOL! Bob I like that & yes very bad flooding and possible tornadoes in the neighborhood!
Last night they were calling for flash flooding and 8-9 inches of rain in Paducah area! (2.5 hrs from Nashville, 3 hrs from St. Louis on I-24 for those unfamiliar with it!)

I guess what I should have posted should have beware it looks like rising water levels to 50 or 100 year highs over the next week will most likely close interstates and have already closed state roads and camp grounds. be careful and call ahead. severe weather is dangerous don't take chances. Even after stormy weather clears late week water will continue to rise for weeks to come. Winds especially cross winds are unforgiving on our coaches.  Be safe  Bob

Very true again Bob! Paducah is putting the gates in the flood walls for the first time since 1997 and the water is expected to be the highest since the the flood of 1937!

Hows the river in E-town?

1937 was 53 ft and the casino would have 3 ft of water in it. forecast now is for 47.6 on wed but that was before the last storm which will prob yield 14 inch plus total. look for flood walls to be on highest probability in my life time. Just remember this will back up the Tennessee and Cumberland and it all has to go down the Mississippi. Nashville in danger again? For those not familiar with Inland rivers the Ohio at Evansville Indiana is at pool stage normaly 13.6 ft and about 1 mile wide now it is running over dams and in places up to 9 miles wide. We call this bottom ground. and few people live there. very rich farm ground  when not in flood mode. When in our area it aproaches the late 40's it starts effecting the inhabited areas.and our highways.Bob

Yes Nashville and other cities up river on the TN & Cumberland are in danger again as the Mississippi is already flooded and they are not going to be able to let all of the flow into the Ohio or all of the OH  into the MS.

I have a friend who works for the city of Paducah @ the "Pump houses" that pump the water back out to the river and he said they have already told some of them to bring sleeping bag, & a pillow to work and the city is providing them with a cot! He also said at his pump house they have brought in a spare motor for all 3 of the sizes required to change one out in a hurray! He said it takes 2-3 people to change one out, but they said in an emergency they can get a second hand in from a different pump house or from home if someone lives close by! (of course he is the closest to his pump house only living 3-4 blocks away and they've already told him he maybe "on-duty" up to 72-96 hrs. at a time until the water level is safe. (because "they are short handed" - but they have other city employees laid off in other departments! LOL! ~ he ain't complaining because anything over 12 hrs is 2.5X's regular wages! ;) )

sounds like you need to refit the buses with intake snorkels, CO2 scrubbers, and dive planes.... :-\

hope the infrastructure all holds out!

My family lives and works on high ground. Would take another 40ft of water to effect us. But is already getting into residential areas not affected in my life time  I'm 64.  Thanks for all the concern.  I will help out all the neighbors that I can that are effected.   Bob
