Rear view camera

Tom, i just ran my wire on top of the roof from the camera up towards the front until i came to where the cable for my solar panels enter the coach....or was it the cb cable?  Either way it was where something was already coming thru the roof so all i had to do was enlarge the hole a little and then reseal it with Dicor Lap Sealant. Never a leak. The rest of the run inside of the bus was just a matter of hiding it behind the window valance and up to the monitor. Didn't have to tear anything apart.

   I saw the one Chaz has, it was wireless and I believe he said it was under $100.00 dollars real nice for the

   money with a hand size screen, licenses plate attachment.

Sounds as if Chaz has the same one as mine but I doubt it would work outside attached to the license plate. Again, mine is inside at the rear window and my only complaint is the small screen. However, for that money you can't expect much larger.

all the talk about hard-wired, i'm assuming you are still building, that this is not a retrofit.  while the idea of a few more security camaras sounds great, i'm thinking no way to re-wire it all.  at least not without tearing everything up for a total mess. 

Once again, this is a good argument for hinged chases at the top walls and bottom by the floor for all the wiring and plumbing. Just wait guys, I got a LOT on my plate still before I get to that point, but I am going to do that with my bus.

we have wireless in our trucks at work. they work OK,however,the will pick up signals from other cameras when you pass by them. Have seen ourselves drive by on our own screen, or seen the inside of the donut shop on screen while at the drive thru. I have hard wired on my coach and love the way it works.  Mike

We bought our COLOR backup camera at  Sams club 2 years ago and we love it it was $59.  Just remember black and white  DOES NO SHOW FLAMES, only smoke and objects, and by the way its wireless and works all 42 ft, Now wireless is wired at the rear and at the front, just not in between,

I have one of those wireless, it picks other signals but only when my own sender is off, otherwise it overpowers stray ones.

It is interesting that you have found cheap wireless ones that work.  I once bought one and tried it out, but the monitor could not pick up the signal more than 15 feet from the camera.

Again, my camera is inside at the rear window. I have serious doubts it would work outside because of all the metal on the bus.

Never had any of those outside interference problems but I never left it on while driving, it was too confusing because of the small screen.

My 4107 has a large screen hard wired and I leave it on all the time.
