Is anyone using 2 Honda 2000i gen/inverters in their setup?

How do you like them?  Will they run 1 air conditioner?

My thought is that one would be enough for me most of the time (fuel efficient) and only doubling up when I need the extra amps.

Thoughts?  Thanks. jm

Ast the last rally I was at I purchased a used honda 1000i that hasn't been run for about a year but I took a chance anyway. Got it home, didnt the usual clean up but still wouldnt run. Found a place online that offered any pierce I needed so i ordered a new carb. Once on, one pull and it runs like a champ. Sells new for about 900.00 bucks. I have a total of 250.00 invested. I didn't get it to use in or on the bus but for other interest. I wouldnt trade it or sell it. Its very quiet and so far, efficient!
Sorry, I couldnt help you more!

They really are cool little inverters.  You can hook 2 together with a special cable and get quite a few amps.  But they are not cheap.  Ace you got a great deal.  New, two 2k hondas are about $2,200.
You can buy a 3k Honda for less money, but they weigh 150 pounds.  2k's weigh about 50.  Much easier to throw into the bus. jm

I have been planning for 2 years on getting rid of my propane 4kw Onan and using the two Honda 2000s. Just need to have a good summer working, didn't happen last summer and not looking real good for this summer yet.
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.

I used 2 Honda EU2000i's.  One will run a 13K roof air and not much else. Honda makes the jumper look like it is high tech $$$$ but plans can be found on the internet to make your own for a few schillings.

The two Honda's were ok for a couple years but got to be a PIA. They have to be locked up or bolted to something. There is no practical way to hard wire or build them in, have to go outside to start, but doable. Really great if you can use them for something else.

I sold them and bought a refurbished Honda EV 4010, much better way to go if you are going to fulltime. Try the two Hondas if you do not like them use them till you install something else. Then sell them, they are an easy sell. I got mine on sale and got almost what I paid for them on Ebay.

Thanx norules!!!!!! Outstanding article and info. I'm going to look at mine and see if I can use one of those on my AC's. I have had issues in the past but I think they "MIGHT" be rectified. Either way, wouldn't it just be a good idea anyway?? ?? ?? ??
