The East Central Texas Get Together is only two weeks away!
March 30 - April 4.....

Shake the cobwebs out, lose the Winter blues and come join us. There are lies to be told, ideas to steal, food to cook and beverages to be consumed.

The wife is even making me clean out my wood shop so We'll have room for people to eat if it's too cold or wet.

Get out of the house, fire up the Bus, Motorhome, motorcycle, Trike... even your pickup and camper, or lacking that, we'll have a spot for you to pitch a tent!

Here's the original information for those of you having a hard time deciding on whether to attend or not:

Come One... Come All, join us for our second annual spring fling here in Beautiful, warm, exciting Franklin, Tx.
Nothing special is planned, unless you want to plan it, mostly we just sit around and tell lies about buses, fuel mileage, power, tools, &c.
Last year we all had a great time, but this year let's see if we can get more people here and really raise the population of the town!

We need cooks, BBQ'ers, musicians, mechanics, wood workers, fabricators, welders, IT guys, painters, or any other trade.

If you don't have a bus, no problem, you can bring a camper, S&S or just sleep in your car!

Come and get some good ideas, and some not so good ideas!

Remember... the first liar hasn't ever got a chance!

My wife and I are trying to plan things where we can get up there.  It might only be on Saturday but we going to try.  I hope yall don't mind if I consume a rather large amount of adult beverage while I tell you how good the fuel mileage was in my Eagle.

Is it done snowing there? I would love to show up, especially to meet you Dallas, but prior commitments with me being on the space shuttle and being the mayor here has me busy everyday except on Tuesday's and those days I donate some free surgeries to those not so fortunate in the morning. In the afternoon's I clean dog poop out of the city park. So what was the deal about first liars?

Chopper, I think the snow might be gone but it is still terribly cold here.  Right now, at 7:15 AM it is only 65 degrees and the high today will only be 81 so you need to bring your warmest clothing. 

As for the first liar.....Dallas lives here so he claimed that title long ago and with me around to keep him in line, well, he hasn't stood a chance for years.

The mileage of your eagle is something we can't wait to hear about even though I can't promise we will believe you.

Hello Bubbagal.  Yes Mam we are trying to get things in line.  It is tough as my has not worked until last week for 8 months.  Very tough economy right now.  We are blessed as we have managed to buckle down and keep our heads above the water.  It got close to our nose but we were able to float for a while.  There are some who were not as fortunate as we have been. 

I'll share a little bit.  We were down to almost no savings when her unemployment ran out.  It was an "Oh $%^&" moment to say the least.  We were able to see in the very near future how we were going to default on everything but the houses.  I make enough to pay for our house and her mothers house.  That future was not very far off at all.  All we could do was look at each other and say "No matter what we have each other and God has a plan for us".  I wish it was easier to be a trusting lamb but it is what is expected.  Not two days later my wife called and said "We got a $5500 check in the mail".  Unexpected and out of left field lands this check in the mail.  Call it coincidence call it what you want, I call it a blessing.  No more than a week after that comes a job for my wife.  It is not what she wanted and did not pay as well but with the unexpected $5500 and job we are going to be fine financially.  She has an interview today with a better job.  Say a prayer please and we shall see what the good Lord has in store for us.  So that is our story and we think it is a great one.  That is why we are stepping and fetching trying to get up there.
