 can a 1987 vw vagagon van with automatic be towed 4 down ? thanks

Vanagons with automatics can not be towed 4 down. I had a '90 GL Westy with auto before we got the "real" bus.

PS-- Zub Zub tows a newer model Eurovan, maybe he'll chime in about those.

John, you might want to check closer than just the manual.  remember, we tow our Chevy Express Van 4 down by running the engine in neutral while towing.  has worked the last 3 years and we've gone quite a few miles the last couple years.  it's manual says we can't tow either.

i figure we can tow a lot of miles in before we exceed the price of a drive shaft disconnect, and we didn't want the hassle of a dolly.
