Diesel is about $.35 higher than gas here.

Fuel is $3.45 here, gas is $2.98.

Our Diesel is about .40 more than 87 octane
But it is still about .40 cheaper than you are paying.

I was beginning to think we were getting robbed up here. I sure hope that isn't whats about to come!

Only a busnut would find ANYTHING cheaper about $ 4.53 gallon of diesel... Ace I am surprised at the disparity, I have not seen that for a long time.

To me it is less expensive, Both way over priced.

In NJ, just paid $3.34, most places @ $3.39

But wait, Bubba's gonna help on this.....

What a story! The price Jack Hart stated is the same price in Southern Utah today. The difference is that our "base unleaded is only 85 Oct. Being in the mountains at the present altitude (5800 Ft) requires a lower rating for whatever reason. Last time I bought gas in Denver it was 87 Oct. I guess that's just another way of "getting less for more".

The primary reason they sell lower octane gas at high altitudes is because they can. Less octane is required at higer elevations because there is less oxygen to burn. Cars can run a lower octane at altitude without knocking. No doubt it costs less to produce 85 octane gas.

I just filled up to day in L.A.- 3.45 for regular and 3.75 for Diesel. Good Luck, TomC

What I'm seeing here is Gas is $3.27 and Diesel $3.61

My guess is that those are the prices in Hana, Maui. Back side of the island, farthest station from the harbor.
