What Boomer and Clifford said.  I have spent some time there looking and all I can say is if you shake his hand then you gotta count your fingers afterward.  His neighbors rate him the same way.  A place to scratch off of your list...permanently.

   Just hang in there I have seen buses lately nicer than mine sell for a third of what i have in mine.  With fuel prices going the way they are this is not the cheapest way of getting around. Buy one cheap try it , might save you a lot of sorrow later on. papa T

One thing is for sure, with a 6V71/Allison 740 you are well positioned to upgrade to a 6V92 which would give you the most desirable power pack in this bus.  A good clean 5C, if it is in good running condition and little/no rust, is a worthwhile project for some, in my opinion.  There are those of us who value a 35 ft true highway bus on a substantial chassis, and the 5C is essentially the same chassis as the MC8 and MC9 - more stainless steel in the frame than earlier versions, etc.  It comes with a lot of RV stuff for the conversion, at a quick glance worth about $4K if bought new.  IF it is indeed in decent nick and you could get it for around $8K, I would be interested if I wanted a solid 35 ft coach.

It took me some time and I may have jumped to soon or let my impulses get away from me.  That being said I spent $3700.00 on my bus for the purchase price 1980 MCI-9 in full passenger mode. No conversion parts no nothing but bus.  It is a bit ragged but I have no ones pre planned stuff to deal with. As they say down south "It's all on me" I can build and document everything I did or designed and when I'm done with it, someone else can enjoy it and know what where and how it was built to maintain the beast. There is my $0.02 for building a bus or buying some one else's project.  It's not like an experimental Aircraft where everyone followes a design and you can pick up where they left off following the plans.
