Head light keep burning out

On my Eagle 10, my high beam headlight keeps burning out. Anyone have a clue what might cause this? Thanks.

Are you using the same brand/vendor?  We found that some of the imports the railroad bought for use in diesel locomotives were inferior.  That is not to say that a domestic brand won't be imported, but do consider another brand. FWIW

Sounds like a short somewhere in the system. 

Does it do it riding down the road?  Or when you turn on something else, like blinkers?

Also, check the housing for the light itself.  There could be a naked wire in there somewhere...

OK, let's clarify this problem...are the bulbs themselves actually burning out, or do they fail to burn due to a problem elsewhere in the circuit?  Are you having to replace the bulbs as I assumed, or do they come on again after manipulating the switch or wiring?

 Have you check the voltage to the light when the motor is running, see if you get a high reading. the eagle should be set at 13.7 volts

Thanks for the ideas. It will go on and off intermittenly after I replace the bulb. Finally it will burn out without any blinker use,etc. I plan to work on it today. I have replaced it with differnt brands of lights.

Have you checked the voltage at each headllight?  You're not by chance getting 24 volts rather than 12 are you?

Eagles are all 12 volt to the best of my knowledge.
