Even my Ford Ranger 5 speed stick cannot be towed.  But here is the save:  Start the engine and let it run in N with the brakes off and all the oiling internal to the trans will be OK.  Now if you have a DD two stroke you can't let it idle so you are back to square one.  I have done this with all my toads.  Shut it off when you cross the Canadian border cause they have rules.  And, by the way, if you get shot up there make darn certain that you are unarmed...this is important only in cases where you survive the gun shot wounds but one cannot be too careful with these things..

The other "fix" is to install a hydraulic pump ON the trans and connect that pump into the oiling circuit.  I don't think the auto system will work because your trans is so very much bigger in volume and it uses something other than ATF unless I am mistaken.

Good luck,

John

We had a Volvo S90 with an automatic.  There was no way it could be towed 4 down.  Even Remco said the only way to tow it was on a trailer.  Your manual may be completely different, but I would really research it well.
