Well I did it!  Just brought home a 1973 MC 7.  I've been looking at this bus for a couple of months now.  It was used as  a team bus up till last year.  PO wanted way more than it was worth, finally bought it for just over scrap value.

The good.  Fairly well maintained mechanically.  7 good tires, one tags gotta go, steers are almost new.  Engine runs good, very little smoke on startup.  Clutch and tranny seem ok.  No rust to speak of.  New steering box.  New batteries.

The marginal. Air leak in between the drivers,  coach settles in about 20 minutes.  Cracked windshield.  Body looks to be about 37 years old.  Seats are all worn out.

From the residual decal on the side it looks like it was a Greyhound out of Arizona.  Spent some time with another bus company, then bought by the PO.    I'm the fourth owner.

It's a project to be sure, hoping for many happy years together.

Welcome home "Magic Bus"

Welcome to you and Magic Bus.   This is definitely a great place to get information to help you with those projects.  There are a lot of MC-7 owners here.

It sounds like a good bus.  Those are common repairs.

I'm located in the recently cold icy Southeast.   ;D

Thanks HighTechRedneck.  The bus really does seem to be in pretty good shape.   I looked at newer 8's and 9's but I really like the style of the 7.  jm

Welcome to your little corner of the world!

Sounds like a good find, I'm not a MCI guy, but you will get lots of questions answered here. Even some you don't want! ;)

Magic Bus huh, very catchy name! Post some pictures when you can. Add some information in your profile and signature line, so we know where you are located. Include Bus make/model, year etc. You never know when some bus nut might live in your neighborhood.

While this may be a little corner of the world, you find the biggest hearts here, so welcome, and enjoy your new project.

Dealing with me, it is required.
Thank God - He is always patient.

I thought about calling the bus "Challenger" but that was too easy.  The song and the bus seem to go together. jm

Get out the soapy water and find that leak. Mine did the same but it was the airbeams leaking. Folks can give you advise if that is the case. Welcome aboard...
