Need Rubber Gaskets for '55 Scenic Cruiser

A friend of mine is looking for these for skylights, or are they unobtainable!

I'm assuming that is for the eye brow glass.

Any one care to share some information?

Paul, there are four skylights, and the rubber is stock off the shelf stuff.  I am getting ready to do ours myself, just as soon as I find some 3/8 plexiglass that won't break the bank!
I am actually getting ready to cut a 250 gallon oil drum in half and make a BBQ cooker sort of thing in order to help 'bend' the skylights to the form of the roof.

Paul, if he has a old gasket CRL in Dallas can make it that is where our local Eagle parts supplier has his made got that from the guy that did the ordering lol

I should have said that going off memory, the gap that slides in the roof is 1/8", the gap for the stock window is
3/8" thick and the locking channel goes on top.
I found several supplies of it, some much higher than others.

Jack might want to try Lexan instead. It doesn't shatter like "plexi" does.
We used to use it on our race cares for windshields. (don't know if it'll bend or not we used to use it flat.)

Bryce, I was thinking that at 3/8" thick, I should be OK.  They are 37" X 25 1/2".
Also with Plexiglass you can polish out a scratch, you can't do that with Lexan. 
I am open to any and all suggestions.

PS...I am also thinking about making the vista windows as well as the rear glass out of Plexiglass too.

Jack, When you say off the shelf stuff, where does one go to find this? I know how to get Eagle rubber, but for an SC that's a different story!

What Jack is describing sounds familiar. I believe I saw it at Ace Glass in Columbia, SC. Of course I believe some of the Scenic skylights are two piece, so you have to be sure you are replacing a single piece skylight for this to work. Further, on the single piece skylights, I wonder how thick the original one piece window is? Anyone know? I haven't removed mine yet.

I am pretty sure the original was 3/8" as well as all replacements.  All mine are 3/8".    A couple are still the two piece, the other two are 3/8" white plexiglass, solid, not two piece. 
I am trying to find my sources for the rubber, give me a little time.
I know Ash Dovel knows, I will call him.
I remember that JC Whitney has it, although it was very high from them.  One source had it at closer to a buck a foot.
I am talking to JC Whitney now.
Does anyone know the proper name for this rubber?

I don't like the rubber gasket because it holds water on top of the glass. And, that water always seems to always find it's way inside.

What I'm planning to do on mine is to have some tinted polycarbonate cut a couple inches larger than the opening & use an appropriate sealant (sikaflex?) & a few clips to hold it down on the outside. I'll add another piece of darker tinted plastic inside held up by the skylight trim ring.

Ash did this on his Scenicruiser & it looks very good & clean.

I just loaned an original 3/8" thick Scenic skylight to a friend who is having them reproduced in 1/4" glass. He will use my original as the mold, as the skylights are curved glass. He is going with single 1/4" so any good auto glass company can supply the gasket. I may have some thicker ones produced for myself, if I can have gaskets made. Send me a PM if you are interested in glass skylights, or any other curved glass for a Scenic. (it's now all available)
