First Piece of Furniture In!

I started my truck conversion in May '08.  Starting with removing the 8ft sleeper box, rearranging the fuel tanks, having the frame stretched 4ft, having the 32ft x 102" full height box custom made to my blue prints with Apitong (like Mahogany) horizontal strips installed at 16" centers inside, having 2.25" of spray foam installed. Then me lining the interior with 1/4" plywood, gluing Kemlite to the walls and ceiling of the bathroom, installing the first window in the bathroom, I finally installed my first piece of furniture-my wife's book shelf above the bed above the rear window (yes I have a rear window this time).  Yesterday I cut the wood for the bed base.  But will hold off with the bed base until I have the rear window installed in the next 2 weeks.
I'm still working so can only work on the truck when I have a day or two off.  Generally-every Sunday and Monday since the business next to me is closed on Monday, and I'm a commissioned salesman that doesn't have to work everyday. 

What's nice about the truck is that with the 24" basement running back to the last 13ft of garage-I don't have to worry about installing plumbing and electrical right now-that can be installed at anytime, compared to the bus that had to go in at the same time since the plumbing and electrical were above floor.  Good Luck, TomC

Tom, what wheelbase was the truck to begin with?

4' sounds like a perfect stretch. IMHO, some commerical truck conversions, like Showhauler, stretch their frames too far, putting the rear axles too far back. They always have heavy front axles, and not enough weight on drivers. I see some truck conversions with less rear overhang than a rear engine bus!
