Anyone have experience, knowledge, of coleman 6538 series 2 ton basement  heat pump systems? We have these installed and working the air, but cannot get the heat part working. Have read the manual, etc, but something must not be right, as it is not working. Any ideas?

There are two of them. They are on different thermostats. They click when you change them, but nothing happens.

odd it would be happening on two seperate units..were thermostats supplied with units? They must be designed to work on heat pumps--they actually work backwards from one mode to next---ac click on when temp to warm----heat click on when it gets to cold..? can you hear compressor running? a humming like sound.

i can't even find an rv heat pump with that number, but i did see some basement pump units that require a furnace tied in for the cold nights below 40 deg.  do you have a separate furnace tied in?

I noticed my Coleman unit locks out the heat pump below a certain temp - FWIW.

I can't help you with your problem but I found lots of docs here:  http://www.rvcomfort.com/rvp/tech_info/manuals.php

They are basement units. Just hear the click when you change it. The thermostats are for the heat pump system. It is not cold enough for it to block the heat pump mode yet. Dont know. I wonder if a regular heat ac guy would know how to get it going. Didnt want to have to pay someone to do it, but, may have to. The ac part works though.
