mci 9 entrance window (motion window insert)?

Any of you folks every placed a new motion/pennisula window on the one piece door? My new unit slides in but seems too small for the opening? There appears to be a large space in the front lower right corner.  The window also looks a bit thinner than the original. All single pane as well.

We replaced ours.  The folks from motion window told us to fill the hole in the lower right corner with spray foam.  We thought better of that and welded in a piece of stainless steel.

Thanks for the input. I am also going to figure something out that will sit in there tightly as well. Perhaps a piece of polycarbonate will do the trick.
