Hello all

i have a 8V71 with a v92 turbo on my engine ,THe PO must haver did this Everything is great i just wish to know my horsepower
i am not sure of the jets but any help would be great

The HP setting is really regulated most of all by the injectors, so you need to pull a valve cover and have a look at the tag on the injector.  A common setting was 8V71T at N75 and 350 hp, and 8V71TA at 7C75 and 370 hp.  TA is aftercooled, I think.

The TA engines (turbocharged and aftercooled) means they have a small (and I mean small) heat exchanger under the blower in the V of the block to remove heat from turbocharging and the blower.  To take full advantage of turbocharging, you should also have the bypass valve on the blower.  This is easy to find if you have a turbo'd engine.  The valve sits on the back of the blower (about the size of a 35mm film can for a snap camera) with an air line coming out of it.  What this does, when the turbo reaches about 5psi, the bypass valve opens and bypasses some of the pressurized air around the blower equalizing the pressure on both sides of the blower making the blower just free wheel, not consuming power.
To show you how ineffective the normal aftercooler is and how much more effective the air to air intercooling is (radiator that sits in front of the engine radiator that the turbocharged air flows through to remove heat [heat is produced anytime you compress air]).  As you can see the 8V-71TA from the factory with N75 injectors produces 370hp and 1059lb/ft of torque.  My 8V-71 with air to air intercooling produces 375hp and 1125lb/ft torque with 9G75 injectors.  Just a bit more efficient.  Good Luck, TomC
