A friend with a 4903 is having trouble finding a CCW MT40 starter for his 8v71

Probably because the MT40 isn't made anymore.  I believe the MT42 has superceded it, and is made in either direction.  Good Luck, TomC

Rick, www.blanchardelectric.com should have it the freight is the killer (68 lbs) change it over to 42 they are easy to find.
Here is the Delco rebuild number for the 40  10461071 any Napa should be able to get one
